The Marion County Technical Education Center opened its doors to the students of Marion County for the first time in the fall of 1968. MCTEC has a long history of serving the needs of area students with relevant technical instruction and career-building educational opportunities. MCTEC is unique among Marion County schools in that facilities, instructors, tools and equipment have been brought together in one place to realistically represent careers in which students can choose to gain skill training. The programs offered by MCTEC represent eight of the sixteen nationally identified career clusters. Career Clusters provide a method for schools to organize instruction and student experiences into broad categories that encompass virtually all occupations in the United States from entry to professional levels.

The mission of the Marion County Technical Education Center is to ensure that students of all ages will acquire skills for a changing global workforce by providing a program of study in a safe, modern learning environment.

The administration, faculty and staff welcome you to MCTEC as we begin our 42nd year of serving high school students and adults from the three school districts of Marion County.
